Respite
Our Respite Services
Respite care is a short-term break for the primary carer of a person with a disability. It can be provided in a range of settings, including the person’s home, a respite house, or a respite center.
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides funding for respite care as a support for both the person with a disability and their carer. This funding can be used to pay for a range of respite services, including in-home respite, overnight respite, and respite vacations.
- Respite care can provide much-needed breaks for primary carers, allowing them to take time for themselves, attend to personal matters, or simply rest and recharge. It can also provide opportunities for the person with a disability to socialize, learn new skills, and engage in recreational activities.
- It is important to carefully consider the respite options available and choose one that best meets the needs and preferences of both the person with a disability and their carer. The NDIS can provide assistance with finding and coordinating respite services, including helping to identify any additional funding that may be needed.
